“A hellish holiday”

Films: Letters to Satan Claus (2020)

Alias: None

Type: Mystical

Location: Civilized Area

Height/Weight: That of an average human.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: You know how funny it is that Father Christmas' main alias sounds so much like the name of the lord of darkness? Well, imagine if a whole movie ran with that concept. Also, Old Scratch is a woman here, though feel free to consider her androgenous if you like.

History: As a kid, disgruntled brat Holly Winters accidentally wrote a letter to Satan instead of Santa to make her parents go away. Said parents ended up in wrapped-up pieces at the claws of the demon lord. Decades later, Holly drunkenly writes to Satan again while prepping a news coverage of a holiday festival. In little time, the Devil arrives, killing everyone in her path.

Notable Kills: Parent parts are a lousy Christmas gift, all things considered. Other deaths include suicide-inducing caroling, people in ovens, killer snowmen. However...

Final Fate: Holly finally writes a letter to Santa asking how to defeat Satan. The response prompts the young woman to get two gay men together, getting everyone to sing, and when Satan intervenes, denying the demon exists while burning the original letter. After the demon explodes into snow, everyone she killed returns to life. Christmas is saved!

Powers/Abilities: Manipulation of reality, pyromancy, immortality.

Weakness: Enough holiday joy weakens her, but it takes the summoner confronting their sins to really do the job.

Scariness Factor: 4-This Satan is one cruel piece of work. You know you're evil when you plan on ruining everyone's Christmas by killing everybody. Her vile looks help with that as well, though her voice isn't quite as intimidating. Perhaps the reason for how she acts and looks is to be a reflection of Holly, but who can say?

Trivia: -Amusingly, both Satan and Santa are played by the same actress, Jana Peck.

-This film was directed by Emma Jean Sutherland, who is mostly known for her work as an assistant director.
